Why Kathy Silverberg supports the Senior Friendship Centers? from Senior Friendship Centers on Vimeo.
Kathy Silverberg witnessed the transformative power of the Senior Friendship Centers through her father’s life. Their commitment to meeting the needs of the elderly population struck a chord with her, igniting a deep passion for supporting this vital organization.
"My father, who came to live with us in his last years, loved his time at the Center, and we loved knowing he was with people who cared for and about him," Kathy says. Knowing that her father was in a safe and engaging environment, and was thriving rather than struggling with loneliness at home, brought her family peace of mind and reassurance. Kathy reiterates that his experience at the Senior Friendship Centers provided a sense of belonging and connection that had a profound impact on his well-being.
Kathy's story serves as a gentle reminder of the incredible value of human connection in the lives of older individuals. She and her husband became members of the legacy society to help ensure that future generations of seniors receive the care, companionship, and support they deserve. She said that in their own small way, they are making it possible for tomorrow’s older adults to find fulfillment as they age. Kathy is also a board member of SFC and has championed fostering meaningful connections and building vibrant lives for older adults in our community.
