Jim recalls the humble beginning of Senior Friendship Centers when it started 50 years ago. He shared how Brother Geenen founded the organization when he recognized the opportunity to assist aging individuals in Sarasota. Since then, Senior Friendship Centers has grown to serve multiple counties in Florida, providing care, entertainment, and education for seniors seeking fulfillment in their lives.

He says he supports the Senior Friendship Centers because the organization offers a wide range of services to create vibrant and engaging communities for older adults from neighborhood dining sites and educational programs to vibrant activities like orchestra performances and dancing. He adds that the organization’s  reach extends beyond the facilities, providing vital home services that address the diverse needs of homebound seniors.

As a board member, Jim is dedicated to carrying forward Brother Geenen’s legacy. His commitment stems from his belief in the organization's purpose of empowering seniors to lead fulfilling and enriching lives.
